Happy "Wear-a-Costume" Day!

So I dug out my old cheer uniform and Charlie put on his Mavericks gear and we were all set!

Since we only had a total of 3 trick or treaters we got bored and started taking pictures

I tried to relive the glory days with a few jumps...yeah, things have definitely changed since 8th grade!

Cool Quotes

“It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is He who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be grounded down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal."
~ Pope John Paul II
"Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
~ Nelson Mandela

Elephant

Colleen and I at Elephant Walk last year! I'm sure going to miss College Station in a few months!

Baby Pictures

Oldie but Goodie

It's hard to believe this was me in 8th grade (I'm the 4th girl from the right).
We all were so silly back then; I remember we rented a limo to drive us around and drop us off at the school Christmas dance that night. We had an awesome time and it will never cease to amaze me how far we have all come since the early days!
(I know the pic is a little blurry but if you click on it, the enlarged photo should pop up)

Hot Mama

My mom has always been a pretty lady but when I see pictures of her when she was 20 something...WOW!
She is classic!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Good friends since 3rd grade, Stephanie and I had a fun day of shopping, chatting, and laughing as a belated birthday present to each other.
Friendship is sweet but it sure makes me lonesome for my other gal friends who are far away :)

"Let them eat Cake!"

This was my first time trying to use my KitchenAid mixer and since Charlie made me "breakfast-in-bed" pancakes this morning with it, I was especially determined to figure it out too!
Charlie documented the experience...

Me: Look, I think I got it...

Me: I LOVE this thing now :-D

(suprise photo)
Charlie enjoying a special treat after his busy day of mowing the grass, sweeping the floors, and cleaning kitchen counter tops...I've got a GREAT husband!

I would like to take this moment to say that Charlie apparently does not care for icing on his cake!
WOW...oh well more for me ;)

GO LIGHTBULBS!

Charlie's last intramural football game with the A&M guys
Their shirts are from a Disciple Now weekend a few years back.
I believe the theme was Illuminate and there are light bulbs on their T's...good times!

French Doors

A cute birthday card from Kati. We always joke about how we will be when we're old.
"There's something very special about friendship, and I cherish ours dearly."
"Who are you and why is your hand on my shoulder?"
The pretty poster Kati gave me for my birthday

Punkin

This dog has more personality than half the people I know!

Its hard to believe that a whole year has gone by since we all got to know Kati and Adam and become friends. God has been so wonderful to bless us with friends who love us and share in these fun occasions.

Charlie picked out the perfect pumpkin for us to carve!

Becoming

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
James 1:2-8
"And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him."
Hebrews 11:6

Picasso

A pretty funny website that has generalized Picasso's works to a few distinctive character traits that you can use to "build" your own Picasso. Enjoy!

Pizza & Pie

Charlie and I bought a ball of dough from Double Daves and made our own pizza! YUMMO

My dessert didn't turn out as well...Charlie was about to take my picture with the freshly baked apple pie when it slipped out of the pan, into my lap and then on to the leather couch.
I was sad/a little burned :-(
