spending time with your older sister...priceless!
I am blessed to live so close to my family and be able to spend time with them often. I never want to take that blessing for granted. Every girl should have a sister and since there are few people who are willing to love you no matter what...here's to my wonderful sister:
for answering her phone at 3 am when i’m crying and/or delirious
for having "parties" (Sprite in wine glasses and a movie) with me when you were in high school and could have been hanging out with your friends
for knowing when i need words, hugs, or just time
for bringing over the latest issue of InStyle and new nail polish to cheer me up when I had mono
for giving me strength and telling me to be the bigger person
for telling me my actions aren’t going to be in my best interest [it's too often, i know.]
for knowing the right time to get me a mixed cocktail
and for taking the time to be silly because she knows a smile was just what the doctor ordered
Kelley, you’re a great listener & you’re completely genuine with your actions, love, and words. I’m glad you know how to read me, even when I’m trying to act tough. Plus, you put up with me when I’m being a brat and when I’m stubborn. I know I’m a lot to handle, so thanks for the patience and definitely thanks for the fun memories!
**"Did he say 'excuse me'?"
*"For cussing?!"

**"Tell me it's not broken..."
*"It's not broken."
I LOVE YOU!

Third time's the charm!
Kati discoverd a funky orange "pod" by a palm tree outside of New York Pizzeria. True to form we decided to name it, Mr. Peabody, and give it a cute smiling face.
And what weekend is complete without a creepy mustache picture
YAY for friends!!
...to fine dinning at The Capital Grille... ...we all had a wonderful time together!
I'm enjoying my first Appletini! You should try one too; they're m-m-m GOOD!
That’s why she is in heaven and I cannot wait to see her again someday. She was a sassy Cajun woman; devoted wife; proud mother, loving grandmother; she was an accomplished nurse; talented seamstress; selfless servant; generous beyond belief; quick-witted and hilarious, and all around “fun” lady with a sparkle in her eyes. We love you Mom!
I wanted to follow up with some memories after Mom's funeral this past weekend (9/6/08). My cousin Pam shared a few word associations that reminded her of Mom...
homemade bar-b-q...Mom
candy drawer...Mom
crabbing at The Camp...Mom
"sha" ol' camp...Mom
Beautiful perfume...Mom
Pocking eggs on Easter Sunday...Mom
fried chicken...Mom
playing "go fish"....Mom
watching Gone with the Wind...Mom
Pam also reminded us of the long "Fontenot Goodbye". Of how we would say goodbye inside of her house and then she would walk us out to our cars. From there we would visit some more and 20 minutes later we'd actually drive away. Mom loved her gradchildren and made us feel as though we were the only people in the world when we were around her.
I love Charlie's honest comment as we were driving back to Texas Saturday afternoon, "That didn't even feel like a funeral." And he was right. Our family is so close that we always pick up right where we left off from the last visit. Of course we are sad we can no long visit with Mom but our joy for her finally being in heaven is greater!
